Discontinuous measurement
Definition: Measurement procedures that may not detect all instances of a behavior.
Whole interval recording
- In general, underestimates behavior since the behavior must occur the entire interval
Partial interval recording
- In general, overestimates behavior since the behavior only needs to occur at any point in the interval
Momentary time sampling
- Can under or overestimate behavior depending on interval length
General Advantages/Disadvantages

Note: these are generalities. If intervals are not optimized under or overestimation can occur.
